Feeding Mint to horses ....


An easy to grow and invasive plant mint should be cut before flowering.  It can easily be grown in the UK and has lots of other uses. 



As this is good for digestion perhaps it would be good to add to each feed.  The horses definitely like mints eg: Polo's.
 

I cut some of my Apple Mint for the horses but (weirdly) none of them would eat it!

Alterative, Analgesic,  Antibacterial, Anticatarrhal, Anti-inflammatory, Antimicrobial, Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Antiviral, Anodyne,  Aromatic, Astringent, Calmative, Carminative, Diaphoretic, Febrifuge, Nervine, Rubefacient, Sedative, Stimulant, Stomachic, Tonic.


Part Used:
Leaves.


Usage:
Good for the digestive system to prevent colic, diarrhoea and also flatulence.  It can help with coughs.


Dosage:
30 - 40gms added to feed daily.
